The development company Homer has officially opened its new headquarters at #1 Javakhishvili Square in Tbilisi.
Rather than constructing a modern office from scratch, Homer chose a different path: to revive a historic 19th-century building and give it new life.
Originally built as a residential house, the building still reflects the architectural charm of Old Tbilisi. With its carefully preserved modernist facade and intricate details, it now serves as a powerful symbol of Homer’s mission—to connect past, present, and future through meaningful development.

“This building is not a soulless architectural sculpture for us—it is a living symbol of how we understand development: respecting history, caring for the present and taking responsibility for the future,” said Nikoloz Medzmariashvili, Homer’s General Director.
Restoration
The building’s restoration was led by Sopho Pataraia, Homer’s in-house architect and Head of Product Development. Guests were welcomed on the second floor, where Sopho presented the story of the renovation through a visual timeline of archival and contemporary photographs.
“The moment we stepped into this space, we knew it didn’t need intervention—it needed a careful awakening,” said Pataraia.
“Our goal was to merge Homer’s needs—a contemporary, functional, meaningful workspace—with the deep cultural heritage embedded in these walls.”
When the team first viewed the building in January 2024, it stood silent and empty—only its bare walls hinting at the history within. Every detail of the restoration was approached with reverence:
The central staircase, once the entry point to the residential home, now forms the heart of office movement.
A large historic window filters natural light, creating dynamic shadows that change with the day.
Original doorways, balconies and historic facade were preserved to reflect and honor the building’s era.
Pataraia’s dual role—as both space architect and head of product development—embodies Homer’s philosophy:
“A space truly comes alive when it carries meaning.”
Opening Ceremony
The new headquarters was inaugurated with a warm, elegant celebration. Live saxophone and violin music filled the air, perfectly matching the ambiance of the space. Guests were invited to explore the restored interior, enjoy Georgian wine, and connect with others who are part of the Homer journey.
The event was attended by company partners, future residents, team members, and other valued guests—those who bring life and energy to the spaces Homer creates.
First Project "Homer Alpha"
On the evening of the headquarters' official opening, the company's Commercial Director - Salome Lazishvili - publicly presented the first residential project - "Homer Alpha" - to the gathered guests.
As Salome Lazishvili noted: "This is a house where everything works - every detail is planned to ensure residents' long-term satisfaction and happiness." The project is being built in Dighomi, on Bob Walsh Street, next to the US Embassy and Olympic Pool.
The location was chosen for the city's development perspective and the territory's long-term development potential. In the near future, this place will become one of the most sought-after microlocations in the city.
Project Infrastructure
The project's infrastructure development within 7,300 square meters is planned so that every space functions effectively. It includes 4 residential buildings, a green recreational zone, separate spaces for children's entertainment and pet walking, exercise territory and sports field for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts, and within 3 minutes' walk from the project, there is unique sports infrastructure such as: rugby stadium, Olympic pool, ice rink, football school, fitness and basketball halls.
"Homer Alpha" will be the first residential house in Georgia with a hand- painted facade. It gives the environment a completely different aesthetic and makes living here special. Additionally, smart home systems are incorporated throughout the project, connected to elevators, building movement, security, and guest reception comfort.
The construction of Homer Alpha is carried out by the construction company Anagi. The first phase of the project will be completed by the end of 2027.
